DIA RV Rental FAQ
Most independent rentals are located within a 10–20 mile radius of DIA, primarily in the towns of Aurora, Brighton, and Thornton. Due to airport security and zoning, you cannot pick up an RV directly at the gate. Expect a 15–20 minute shuttle or ride-share.
If you are a local flying out, some owners allow you to leave one vehicle at their secure storage facility for the duration of your trip. However, for fly-in visitors, this isn't necessary.
Communication is key. Most individual hosts on Boondocking Colorado are flexible, but corporate depots have strict hours. We recommend booking a hotel near the airport (The Westin or Gaylord Rockies) for your first night if you land after 6:00 PM.
While the roads near DIA are flat and wide, we generally advise against driving an unfamiliar RV into the mountains for the first time at night. Deer and elk are extremely active on Highway 34 and Highway 36 after dusk.
